St. Patrick's Day Memories

1. My wonderful first grade teacher wrecking our room during recess (turned over chairs, papers spilled out, desks out of order, etc.) and sprinkling green glitter in a track around the room. She said it must have been a leprechaun, because he had left us some candy. I was ENCHANTED!
2. I had a mild crush on a football player at UCA, and he pinched me for not wearing green. I felt like the pinch was too hard. Crush didn't last long.
3. When A and I were engaged, we went to Llywelyn's with friends to have dinner on St. Patrick's Day. I was so hungry, and they had a special holiday menu that was disgusting and not at all veg-friendly. I stayed hungry.
4. My fifth grade teacher made green eggs and I thought that was weird, so I didn't eat them.
5. When I was student teaching, one of my first graders stood up in front of the class and did a stand-up routine (he did those a lot, much to my delight) about leprechauns. I was in tears!
6. I thought St. Patrick's Day was Monday, so we've already worn our green this year.
7. Not really a St. Patrick's Day memory, but my sister has this amazing ability to find 4-leaf clovers. They said on CSI:NY that they occur 1 in every 10,000 normal clovers. Unbelievable!
